Welcome

Hello, my name is Jeff Corbett.  A lot of people ‘in the business’ call me JeffX.  I used to write a Blog under the name of TheXBroker.com.  You may have even been auto-directed over here, from there.  As you can see I decided it was time for a new house and a fresh start.

Many of the articles from the site formally know as The XBroker shall still find a home under this roof.  That’s not to say I wont be writing about abstract or technically granular mortgage and real estate topics over here, just that I will be writing and sharing much more than that… and for that, I decided to change the theme of my site from 2006 to something a little more dynamic and fun.

Open Source MLS

Over the past few days I wrote my first article in almost 18 months over at RETSO.com.  The reason for the hiatus had everything to do with losing interest in much of the conversation going on in and around the real estate and mortgage industries.

Social Media (as a topic) as well as the often worthless but popular and entertaining ’Next Shiny New Thing’ conversation that dominates the interwebz caused me to disconnect.

What inspired me to write again was a 3 hour car ride from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, GA with my friend Daniel Rothamel.  While chatting as fast as two 13 year old girls on copious amounts of Mountain Dew, the topic of:
